Here, you should find all the essential information you need before you start your studies.
This website will be updated as soon as all dates are fixed. This will be the case around August. For the time being, this site will provide you with a good orientation about the upcoming events.

Freshman events for the winter semester 2024/2025
The Mathematics Preliminary Course takes place from 01.10.24 to 11.10.24 Monday til Friday. On October 3rd, there will be no lectures and activities due to the holiday. A previous registration needs to be submitted here.
Except for the first day, on which the course starts at 10:00 a.m. when the student-faculty council arranges additional activities, the following schedule always applies:

Freshers' Trip to Weidenthal
In the preparatory course, we will inform you about all of this again, so you will still have some time before you need to make a final decision. Nevertheless, here is some information in advance.
Between the Mathematics Compact Course and the start of lectures, the Student Council of Physics offers in the winter semester from 17.10.25–19.10.25 a three-day trip to the Otto-Riethmüller-Haus in Weidenthal (Am Weiher 47, 67475 Weidenthal). There you will have the opportunity to get to know your fellow students and the Student Council better. In addition, you will receive all the important information about starting your studies.
Registration:
For the 2 overnight stays and full catering we ask for a contribution of 25€.
To participate, we require a registration (by e-mail, fax, post, or in person) and the transfer of the contribution to our account. It is sufficient to register just a few days before the trip.

Online Math Bridge Course
The Department of Mathematics offers an online math bridge course to prepare students for their studies. There you can check your level of knowledge of school mathematics and close existing gaps individually. In addition to the learning units and tests with solutions, there is also the possibility to ask questions directly to the OMB-tutors.
