This website will be updated as soon as all dates are fixed. This will be the case around August. For the time being this site will give you a good orientation about the upcoming events.

Freshman events for the winter semester 2024/2025

The Mathematics Preliminary Course takes place from 01.10.24 to 11.10.24 Monday til Friday. On October 3rd, there will be no lecture and activities due to the holiday. A previous registration needs to be submitted here.

With the exception of the first day, on which the course starts at 10:00, where the student faculty council arranges additional activities, the following schedule always applies:

Freshmen trip to Weidenthal

Dear freshmen, currently the Corona situation is still uncertain, so we can not ensure that a freshman trip will take place. Therefore we ask you to register early with us by mail, but until the request from our side NOT yet to transfer the below-mentioned expense contribution.

In the Mathematics Preliminary Course we will tell you everything again, so that you still have some time until you have to make a final decision. Nevertheless here in advance.

Between the Mathematics Preliminary Course and the beginning of the lectures, we offer a three-day trip to the Otto-Riethmüller-Haus in Weidenthal (Am Weiher 47, 67475 Weidenthal) in the winter semester from October 18th - 20th. There you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow students and the faculty student councill. You will also get all the important information about the start of your studies.

Registration:

For the 2 overnight stays and full board we ask for a contribution towards expenses of 25€.

To participate, we need a registration (by e-mail, fax, post or personally) and transfer the fee to our account.

Online Math Bridge Course

The Department of Mathematics offers an online math bridge course to prepare students for their studies. There you can check your level of knowledge of school mathematics and close existing gaps individually. In addition to the learning units and tests with solutions, there is also the possibility to ask questions directly to the OMB-tutors.
